Arnhem laat zijn beste kant aan Willem-Alexander en M√°xima zien | foto’s

<p>Op een goed gevuld marktplein heeft Arnhem zichzelf vandaag <a href="http://www.arnhem-direct.nl/berichten/u_komt_toch_ook_de_koning_en_koningin_begroeten" target="_blank">gepresenteerd</a> aan onze nieuwe koning Willem-Alexander en koningin M√°xima. Voor de liefhebbers, M√°xima droeg een bloemetjesjurk van modehuis Natan, een jurk die ze al eerder droeg bij staatsbezoek aan Brunei. Na een korte ontvangst op het Huis der Provincie, met balkonscene, maakte het koninklijk paar een wandeling over de markt waar ze door massaal uitgelopen Arnhemmers werden toegejuicht. </p>

<p>De wandeling begon met een korte geschiedenisles over de Slag om Arnhem. Daarna ging de tour verder langs het <a href="http://Openluchtmuseum.nl" target="_blank">Openluchtmuseum</a>, <a href="http://moba.nu" target="_blank">MoBA</a>, Vitesse, Living Statues, Burgers’ Zoo en bekende Arnhemse ontwerpers als Spijkers & Spijkers, Sjaak Hullekes en People of the Labyrinth. Hoogtepunt wat mij betreft was het optreden van Introdans, ondersteunt door het Gelders Orkest. Maar, niet alleen de kopstukken geven acte de présence, ook gewone mensen uit heden en verleden van Nederland verzamelen zich rond de bus. En natuurlijk wordt er vurig gediscussieerd; een knipoog naar de omstreden totstandkoming van de canon. Als het Koningspaar nadert, keert de focus terug en poseert men eensgezind voor een nationaal portret. Als een beeldverhaal van Nederland.<br />

Met deze presentatie illustreert het Nederlands Openluchtmuseum dat het – honderd jaar oud – op weg is naar een toekomst als museum waar hét verhaal van Nederland tot leven komt. Fotograaf: Wim de Knegt</p>
